vis Lang: monday class progress

All the player gather around the game board. The dealer needs to then set up the board. The message, noise, and receiver cards must be placed in their designated spots. Then the dealer must then pass out the pieces of 6x6 paper and pencils. You pass out as many sheets to each player as there are players in the game. Each player will need one piece of paper per other players involved in the game. The player to the left of the dealer goes first.

Player 1 draws from the board:

1 MESSAGE card that has a word or phrase on it,

1 RECEIVER card, this is who will receive the message

1 NOISE card that has an obstacle on it

So after player 1 has all of their cards the dealer turns over the timer and player one designs their message with the provided paper and pencil. Then pass it to whom ever was stated on the drawn receiver card. That person then becomes player 2 and they can make guesses as to what the message the sender was trying to portray. If the receiver(s) gets the correct message then that round is over and the receiver gets to keep the senders message card ( if there are more than one receiver you must keep track of your correct message guesses). The sender then receives 15 points that the dealer must record on the feed back score card.

However if the receiver(s) do not get the correct message the sender was illustrating then player 1 must pass the original message card, to the receiver(s) and they become the new sender, and must draw a new message, noise, and receiver card. If there is a group of receiver then players must come up with the idea together but only one person can illustrate it onto the paper. The dealer must flip the timer over. The designated illustrator must then take the original message and ideas from player 1 and add another layer and meaning from the new message card to the original message by combining both messages together in one illustrated message. The message must then be passed to the new receiver(s) and they must try to decode the two different messages. If the new receivers gets the correct message then round 2 is over and the receiver gets both message cards and the new sender(s) then receives 25 points that the dealer must record on the feed back score card. However if the new receivers still do not the the new combined message then the message cards are dead and the person two places to the left of the original sender from round one is up and the game begins again.

The game is over when the first player(s) collect 5 message cards. The dealer is then responsible for adding the points. Every message card collected either as individuals or as groups collected is worth 10 points, and then add it to the totals each player has collected in sender points. player with the highest score is the winner.
